The Bagri Foundation is thrilled to be among the major supporters of the 2023 edition of the Shubbak Festival, the UK’s largest biennial festival of contemporary Arab cultures, bringing new and unexpected voices alongside established artists to London every two years.
In 2023, the Bagri Foundation is also pleased to be co-presenting as series of special events:
- the multi-artist take-over of the National Theatre’s River Stage
- What the Dog Said to the Harvest by lisa luxx & jasmin kent rodgman
- Bahiyya a rapturous revival of Egyptian musicians such as Sayyed Darwish, Sheikh Imam and Zakariyya Ahmad
- Love & Revenge a DJ set where electro-pop meets film
- Ghalia Benali a concert by the legendary Tunisian songstress
- Hamed Sinno the of the solo material of the Lebanese-American indie-rock musician
Shubbak (meaning ‘window’ in Arabic) supports and celebrates the diversity of Arab artists’ creativity and innovation through its professional, participatory and engagement programmes, national touring and biennial multi-artform festival.
