On 25 August, we speak with author Deepa Anappara, writer of Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line – shared via Instagram, Youtube and Facebook from 2pm BST. Biographies
Deepa Anappara was born in Kerala, southern India, and worked as a journalist in India for eleven years. She has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, where she is currently studying for a Creative-Critical Writing PhD. Her debut novel Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2020. It was a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice and a BBC Radio 2 Book Club pick. It is also being translated into over 20 languages.
