Artes Mundi 10

Bagri Foundation is delighted to be announced as Presenting Partner for Artes Mundi 10 (2023) and Artes Mundi 11 (2025). This collaboration will be the Foundation’s first major partnership within the UK outside of London and marks a significant milestone for both organisations.  This new partnership will enable the delivery of an ambitious programme centred on the biennial exhibition and associated prize, plus a public programme of talks, workshops, commissions and other activities for Artes Mundi 10 and Artes Mundi 11. Artes Mundi brings together the UK’s leading international art prize, accompanied by an acclaimed biennial exhibition. Replicating the foundation ethos, the partnership aims at reflecting on the changing forces that shape our world and our futures through the voice of global artists. Artes Mundi and the Bagri Foundation share a commitment to support international contemporary visual arts practice and elevate dialogue surrounding the connections between local and global issues. 

Artes Mundi 10

Presented in partnership with Bagri Foundation, Artes Mundi 10 will celebrate its 20th anniversary by looking to its rich past and exciting future.

The AM10 exhibition will for the first time be presented across Wales at five nationwide venues, National Museum Cardiff and Chapter in Cardiff; Glynn Vivian Art Gallery in Swansea, Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown and Mostyn in Llandudno, providing even greater opportunities for national and international audiences to experience the show.

The AM10 exhibition will comprise significant solo presentations of new and existing work of seven of the world’s most important international contemporary artists:

Rushdi Anwar (Born Kurdistan. Lives and works between Thailand and Australia) exhibiting at The National Museum Cardiff.

Carolina Caycedo (Born UK to Colombian parents. Lives and works in USA) exhibiting at Oriel Davies Gallery and Chapter.

Alia Farid (Born Kuwait. Lives and works between Kuwait City and Puerto Rico) exhibiting at The National Museum Cardiff.

Naomi Rincón Gallardo (Born USA. Lives and works in Mexico) exhibiting at Chapter.

Taloi Havini (Born Bougainville (Nakas/ Hakö tribe. Lives and works in Australia) exhibiting at Mostyn and Chapter.

Nguyễn Trinh Thi (Born and continues to live and work in Vietnam) exhibiting at Glynn Vivian Art Gallery and Chapter.

Mounira Al Solh (Born Lebanon. Lives and works in Lebanon and The Netherlands) exhibiting at The National Museum Cardiff.

Artes Mundi is the flagship international visual arts organisation for Wales based in Cardiff, UK. Established in 2002, Artes Mundi is committed to supporting international contemporary visual artists whose work engages with social reality and lived experience. The Artes Mundi exhibition and prize takes place biennially, running a sustained public programme of co-creative partnerships, commissions, community and learning projects alongside the public exhibition and prize giving.
