Inspired by real life events, Pareeksha starring Adil Hussain explores one teenager’s passion to study, in spite of being poor and the lengths a father will go to seeing his son’s aspirations come true.

Bucchi is a rickshaw puller who happily spends his days taking children from affluent homes to the famous local private school. He dreams of being able to provide his son Bulbul with a decent education and to send him to this school. But in order to make this dream a reality Buchhi has to take actions that will put at risk all he holds dear.

Prakash Jha’s latest film is a rousing story of hope and determination highlighting some of the gaping social inequalities facing many low income families in the developing world.
