A performance at the crossroads of contemporary dance, traditional Chinese dance and classical Indian dance, kathak.
The journey promises to be a beautiful choreographic adventure. Samsara brings together Aakash Odedra and Shenyuan Hu. On stage, India meets China, traditional movement dialogues with ballet, the rhythm of kathak (classical Indian dance from the North of the country) rubs shoulders with contemporary dance. Mythology will look to the past, delving into the famous Chinese tale from the 16th century Journey to the West, but also to the present, with more personal anecdotes of the two creators and performers. Samsara can be seen as a passage between cultures, a fertile exchange, a continuous and magnificent movement. Accompanied by the music and voice of Nicki Wells, Samsara will embark the spectator into an elsewhere brimming with choreographic discoveries. An odyssey to talk about the humanity that brings us together. PHILIPPE NOISETTE
